Technical Standards

11. Beginning of perforated area

For tool-related reasons, the punch and the matrix are arranged in the tool at distances larger than those of the holes in the plates. This results in a hole pattern with incomplete rows of holes (double staggered rows), also called "unfinished ends" or "open ends" (picture 12); the hole pattern is complete only after the second stroke.

If a complete hole pattern is desired on the first stroke (normally staggered rows or "finished ends" or "closed ends", picture 11) this needs to be agreed separately.
